A visit to the Diocese of Fresno Catholic Cemeteries:

MESSAGE FROM BISHOP JOHN STEINBOCK ABOUT
FRESNO CATHOLIC CEMETERIES

Relieving people of some of the difficulties they will face at the time of death manifests our love and care. That is why I am pleased to support our Catholic Cemeteries program which offers Catholics an opportunity to make burial arrangements before the need arises.

The time of death is traumatic, an occasion of considerable emotional and financial strain. In these circumstances, it is understandably difficult to make prudent decisions. The Catholic Cemeteries program enables people to decide their cemetery needs thoughtfully and without pressure.

Death is always and primarily a moment of religious significance -- the culmination of our earthly pilgrimage and the passage to eternity. Often the burden of making difficult decisions about burial arrangements immediately after a death distracts one from these personal and religious considerations. Our hope is to free our people from some of these pressures.

With cordial good wishes, I remain
Sincerely yours in Christ,

Most Reverend John Steinbock
Bishop, Diocese of Fresno

at St. Peter's Cemetery

ST PETERSWith groundbreaking in early 2008, and set to be completed in late 2009, we are now offering pre-construction discounts on our newest mausoleum - St. Joseph of Arimathea - appropriately named after the disciple who offered his own tomb for Jesus' body.
For full pricing information and details on the pre-construction discount, please stop by our office during normal business hours, call us at 559-488-7449, or send us an email at cemeteries@dioceseoffresno.org

ST PETERSFresno Catholic Cemeteries are owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Fresno, and are the only Catholic cemeteries in the Fresno area. We have been serving the needs of Fresno area families since 1885, and currently operate three cemeteries, only one of which still has available space.
Calvary Cemetery, our oldest cemetery, is located south-east of West Belmont and North Hughes, behind Mountain View Cemetery. Calvary no longer has burial space available.

Holy Cross Cemetery, which has been operating since the early 1900's, is located on the south-west corner of West Belmont and North Hughes. Holy Cross also no longer has burial space available for sale.

ST PETERSSt. Peter's Cemetery, our newest cemetery, opened its gates in 1967. St. Peter's is located on North Blythe Avenue, between Whitesbridge and Belmont, and is the home of the Fresno Catholic Cemeteries office. St. Peter's has enough available property to last at least through the 21st century.

We are proud to offer very competitive prices on traditional burials, mausoleum crypts, cremation niches, and private family estate mausoleums. We also offer affordable pre-need financing.

Our Family Service Counselors are trained, compassionate professionals who can assist grieving families at their time of need; as well as assist families with their pre-need planning to avoid having to make important decisions during a very difficult time.

Our office is open during normal weekday business hours, plus our Family Service Counselors are available evenings and weekends for pre-need planning appointments. To schedule an appointment, or to simply request more information about our products and services, please contact our Family Service Counselors at 559-488-7449 or by email at cemeteries@dioceseoffresno.org.
